On Gay Marriage, Rights, and Rebellion.


 Gay marriage is a hot-button issue these days. Ever since Obama came out to say that he believes gay marriage should be legal, the country has resounded either in uproar or in echo, with newscasts and articles and interpersonal arguments all about gay marriage, filling the public days. The president has left the issue of gay marriage to the states. Though he supports it, it’s exactly where it’s always been. The comment of support is nothing more than a political tactic to gain support  in an area where he plans to make no real, national changes, because that would be political suicide.
But in any case, it doesn’t matter if the president supports gay marriage or not, or uses it as a ploy to garner support from the gay community which he supported 16 years ago, then abandoned, and is attempting to return to. It doesn’t matter if obama supports gay marriage because gay marriage doesn’t matter. It may be the most idiotic political “issue” I have ever heard of. Continue reading
