KaylaJo O’Lone-Hahn

KaylaJo O’Lone-Hahn is an Anarchist-Communist, Feminist/Intersectionalist, Nihilist, Bisexual Radical Queer and Pandeist. She is a college student with an Art Studio major and a Women’s Studies minor. She was born outside of Philadelphia and was raised by artist and musician parents. Because of this, she grew up in a community of creative people and developed a love for the arts and all things strange. KaylaJo eventually found herself in a myriad of adventures that led her into radical politics, thus leading her into the views she holds today.

Determined to make a positive change in the world and bring in the arts as a part of it, she’s a poet, singer, painter, and essayist. After facing encounters with abuse, sexual assault, police corruption, PTSD, and the oppression faced as anyone who isn’t a straight white middle class man, KaylaJo began trying to find ways to make something beautiful and worthwhile out of the mess. She began working with revolutionary groups in Philadelphia and the SDS in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Much of her political work has been in writing for zines such as We Will Not Go Quietly, a publication  based in Australia on surviving sexual assault and created by Kate Ravenscroft, writer of 16 Impacts of Sexual Assault. She has also worked with Betty Makoni of the Girl Child Network Worldwide and discussed child abuse and rape, and the differences in society’s handling that between Zimbabwe and the United States on ZimOnlineRadio, an international radio website.

In time, she began thinking about her mistreatment as a survivor and the rights of survivors. She began taking on writing Survivor Solidarity with a man named Zachary Gerard Garcia, an online zine that focuses on identifying and promoting the rights and experiences of survivors which are so often ignored. The zine is trying to compile the stories of sexual assault and surviving, along with essays on rights of survivors as a political group and how to increase solidarity within the mostly anonymous group. Her topics of interest are anarchist-communism, political theory, radical queerism, feminism, rape culture, and sex-positivity. KaylaJo now focuses on helping others and exploring and expressing new avenues of thought in order to eradicate the oppression and hardships which people face.
